Jennifer - Rambling Renovators Hi! We drilled a large hole and capped it with a grommet. Grommets come in standard sizes. You can find them at Home Depot / Lowes etc.
Hi Jennifer! I love the idea of hanging these bookcases on the walls! - My daughter has one of these bookcases in her room and I'm very inspired. Can you please tell me what type of hardware you used to hang the bookcase on the wall? I know it is quite heavy. Do you recommend using brackets, etc.? Thank you so much! »
Hi!
I love this area in your room! Its function and still not intrusive. I am stealing it (lovingly I promise) for my room or least the basic concept of it. I do want to ask if you went to Ikea as well for the desk part - the drawers and countertop? Thanks! Absolutely fabulous! »
7. The clever use of Ikea cabinetry and bookshelves adds a ton of storage to this colorful room, and Houzz users loved the fun graphic touch that the black and white curtain brings to the room.
Improve your organization. Think about your line of work and what you accumulate. Could you use more drawers to keep it all corralled? Filing cabinets? Shelves? Folders? Whatever it is, now’s the time to make sure you’re well stocked.
Keep your workspace clutter free. Avoid adding too much stuff to your desk. When the room is in den mode, you don’t want to be distracted looking at piles of work and electronics. Campbell recommends using wireless equipment if possible. “Put your fax and printer on a shelf that slides out within the built-in cabinetry, and hide them behind retractable doors," she says. "This allows easy access while working, yet they can be quickly put away once work is complete.”
6. Give wandering papers a home. Even after filing, a certain amount of paper tends to stubbornly resist categorization. Our lives do not fit neatly into the same categories, so it's only natural that you will need to create some files that are uniquely yours. I have files for my blog, pet chickens and travel notes; certainly not everyone needs those.
