Which company does the pedestal in the corner of the living room? same thing for the big urn. Who does that? - Pedestal in the corner and big black urn. What are the brands? »
Scot Meacham Wood Design The large pedestal was purchased from William Sonoma Home as the company was closing its local store several years ago. The large ginger jar belonged to the homeowner prior to our beginning the project.
we might buy -two couches for our LR - 3 seater on long wall and 2 seater on shorter wall ..couches at right angles to each other, NOT opposite.... my decorator is telling me they should be the SAME style and SAME fabric. Is it a decorating NO NO to use two different style couches and different fabrics? The other furniture will be a large coffee table in front of the 2 couches and two similar swivel chairs...I'm OK w/ the similar swivel chairs but concerned that two exact couches will make the room look VERY decorated...not casual. »
jewelgirl how big is the room?Ceiling ht? Open concept? and are you having to plan around fireplace or doors? sounds like a lot of furniture for a condo.
lauriels I totally agree. As long as they are pleasing to the eye and "go" together, they certainly do not need to match. I think I would get rid of that decorater. I am actually going to put a couch on my long wall and on the other wall a love seat. One will be navy leather with grommets and the other will be a fabric . It will be beautiful. Get what you want and again what's pleasing to your eye, You have to live with it.
Wood chose menswear — classic, refined and tailored — as the catalyst for the home's decor. A handsome collection of solid and pinstriped toss pillows, along with a vintage bearskin throw, adorn a beautifully aged leather sofa from Restoration Hardware. Custom framed prints serve as an interesting focal point.
Metallic finishes and menswear-inspired textiles give this overstuffed room a polished look. More:The Den Makes a ComebackWarm Up Your Home for WinterWinter Woodsy Gets an Update
This San Francisco condo was inspired by fashion, in particular by one of the homeowner's jobs as a stylist at Ralph Lauren. A rich leather sofa, a bearskin throw and pillows covered in suit fabric give the room a warm and masculine feeling.
7. Textured layers. Textured layers make you want to immediately sink into a room and relax. Take a classic leather sofa and try mixing layers of pillows in wools, velvets, silks, linens and cottons — all in a similar neutral palette. Heavy tailored wool curtains (in plain fabric or a pattern of clean lines) will make the space feel extra cozy.
