There is a TV screen over my fireplace centered over a wall of 19' long. Not too sure if I should try this a) 'half height' cupboards with 2 light fixtures and pictures to provide symmetry to the fireplace/TV or b) just get full height cupboards to the fireplace? »
gigi4799 There are no windows on this wall. 10' ceiling height and the room is a 21'x19' combined Kitchen and family room. The room is well lit by recessed lightings.
Don't want the TV to dominate the room, and I am thinking about picture/Mirror over the fireplace, and then TV on one side of the wall, or on an adjacent wall. Thanks for response,
Interiors by Sherry, Sherry Smith if your ceiling heights are 10 ft. the height in the picture that you saved on design sister is also ten. If you are building the house, you might want to raise the hearth and bookcases on both (as in pic). I would tend to put open shelving above closed cabinets which could include the tv. As to mirror vs. pic above
fireplace, generally I would go with picture -- generally the mirror would only

this is very nice. again, if lower, shelves lend themselves to being wider. hearth not necessary, but would consider--again, concern about bringing fireplace too far out into narrow room w/hearth.
