Typical size for doorless shower? - Is this the typical dimensions for a walk-in shower w/out a shower curtain and/or glass door? Is there much splash beyond the end of partial wall? »
Kaufman Homes, Inc. I can't say that there is a "standard" for a walk-in shower. A lot has to do with the location of the shower head, the type of shower head, the shower pan size, and surrounding flooring and wall material. In this particular bath, the entire adjacent wall is tile, all the flooring is tile, and the waterproofing extends out beyond the end of the wall. It is more common to do a return wall on the end of the shower to block splash, but we were looking for a more open feel here.
karenduguay Looking for the same in our house we are planning. We allotted 4'x6' shower "room" with a tiled sitting area across from opening to sit and dry off. Nothing extensive, just a teak bench or similar. Not many jets planned, difinitely a handheld shower head, possibly rain shower above toward back half of 4'x6' area.
How you clean it depends on the type of grout and sealer you use. See the manufacturers recommendations. I would recommend looking into the new types of grout that do not require sealing such as epoxy grout and others (these stones still need sealing)
like the idea of continuing the open shower flooring into the rest of the bathroom...dont want it to be slippery tho...something with texture may be better.
