look closely at this example..it is a little unusual. the door on the right is a traditional hinge type, but there are 2 doors on the left that are accordion style..meaning that they are hinged to each other to fold and stack on top of one another - and their weight is supported by a track at the top. special hardware allows multiple door panels to connect in this way..and this can create a very large opening to outdoor space. i will show other examples. but the reason this is a good one is that it shows that one of the doors can be traditional hinge type, next to accordion type. the benefit is that hinge type is faster and easier to open and pass through on daily basis. this homeowner probably opens the accordion side a few times per week, but passes through the hinge side several times per day.
