debora carl landscape design The fire element is fueled with natural gas, which is plumped to the site and distributed by a double gas fire rod inside the sand blasted block structure. The fire element was built on site. First we poured a 6" h rectangular base of smooth troweled colored concrete, then built a structure using 4" h x 6" x 16" concrete block, topped with a standard concrete cap. We then sand blasted the block structure with coarse sand to reveal the aggregate in the block. The gas rods in the interior of the structure are covered with small black lava rock. The concrete base is a good place to set drinks!
