debora carl landscape design The counter top is actually honed black granite slab with a 3" square edge. The honing gives the granite a matte finish, better for exterior applications where dust can be an issue with glossy surfaces.

debora carl landscape design This is custom designed and built. The finish is smooth stucco and smooth concrete counter top. You can purchase the grill, drawers, doors, etc from many suppliers, such as Viking, Firemagic, and Lynx.

COASTROAD Hearth & Patio Honed granite tends to show grease spots more readily than polished stone does, but any well sealed stone should clean up easily. Flamed granite is also a nice option if you prefer to stay away from a polished look, and I particularly like how soapstone looks.

This is a soapstone top, which is practically impervious to anything, but you'll need to re-treat it occasionally:

vermeer_day With counters they do a nice little trick on the edge by joining two pieces together (the side and the top) with a 45 degree angle and the result looks like an extra thick counter depth. This was you can choose any depth you want for that nice weighty look.
