This peaceful and expansive ocean seascape painting depicting waves gently breaking on distant rocks in a light morning mist, was created from my imagination. The minimal design and detail, using the concept of "less is more", combined with the soft colors, create a calming, serene image. This is an original acrylic painting on wood-cradled masonite panel. It is 3/4" deep, painted on the sides to match the image. No frame required. Comes wired and ready to hang.
About the artist:
- I like to paint coastal, tropical and water themed images with acrylics on canvas, and sometimes with mixed media.
- The purpose of my artwork is to provide a visual mini-vacation that can be experienced at any time, as an escape from the stress of civilization. Whether it's a scene that transports the viewer to a more peaceful, meditative place in their mind, or a whimsical, joyful image that brings out their inner child, or one with inspiring words that touches the heart, I attempt to create art that has a healing value.
- The sea is one of my favorite subjects as it speaks to me on a deep emotional level, and provides a profound sense of calm, stillness and contemplation, a way to rebalance and renew the human spirit. This theme is explored in my serenity series of land, sea and sky images, which are expansive, minimal and slightly abstract.
- My paintings also attempt to fulfill the need to go beyond to something new, exotic and far away, as well as convey the magic, mystery and spiritual qualities of nature that are underlying everything, yet frequently appear to be hidden or missed as we rush through life.
