Amanda Haytaian I believe half inch around should be plenty. Usually, there is ample space directly behind the micro in a 24" deep cabinet for ventilation, as well.

Amanda Haytaian Island is 10' wide by 2' deep, plus a 6" deep knee wall on the back.

Amanda Haytaian Hi. The island is 10 feet long. 24" deep on the working side and 18" deep top on sitting side. The only issue with having an island this long is that it is hard find a slab of stone that large, which means you might have to have a seem somewhere.

Amanda Haytaian Yes, it is sitting on an open shelf. I do this a lot in my kitchens because is saves money on the trim kit and looks great. Just want opening to be close to the size of the microwave.

Amanda Haytaian This island is 10 feet. Only issue with an island this long is you will have a seam somewhere. Slabs don't usually come that large.

Rebekah Zaveloff Thisis a shaker door with an inside bead, another classic door style many manufacturers carry. Kitchen craft has one called Lexington.

Amanda Haytaian Hi. My cabinets are all custom made, but most cabinet companies have something similar. The door has detail around the edges, is a flat panel, and has a simple bead moulding inside.
