Suzanne I just saw this post...and surprise it's my place! Still love it Maria! The fireplace measurements from the wall out are: 14.5" top, 18.5" bottom. Hope that helps
Hi,
Love this colour!
Also like the art that is showing above the fire place. Could you give me an details you might have on this picture?
Many thanks,
Cathy

Hi, I love this fireplace design. I am just now enclosing my brick fireplace, and am adding an insert and possibly a mantle. What is the height of yor mantle? jeanne »
COASTROAD Hearth & Patio Mantels come in all shapes and sizes, but using a little experience, I'd say the gas fireplace in the photo above is about 32" tall, the tiled surround and trim is about 8" high (6" tiles + 2" trim), the orange bit of wall is about 5" high, the mantel shelf header is about 9" high and the shelf itself is about 1 1/2" thick.
So, the total is about 55 1/2" +/-. I would say that 54" is an average height in a room with an 8' or 9' ceiling. That is measuring from the top of the hearth. If you have a raised hearth, all bets are off, because you have to reconcile the relative distance from the top of the hearth with your overall desired height. Be careful about lowered combustible (wood) mantels more than the gas insert instruction manual allows.
I would also strongly recommend sketching up the whole thing to visualize it before starting to swing a hammer. Mistakes made on paper (or the computer) are cheap.
thanks for the glittery yellow.... can you tell me the names of each of the orange colors you used in these rooms.... fireplace, close up of chair and color in room, (almost brown) with oval dining table, behind mantle?
Thanks so much.... »
In this living room, the fireplace becomes a statement piece with a coat of orange paint. Finishing the mantle and surround in white spotlights the architectural detail, while pale yellow walls help the orange to pop without allowing it to steal the show.
In this case a grouping of vases offsets a painting that's been shifted to the left. The placement plays up the energy of the bright orange fireplace and keeps the architecture from feeling static.
