Emery & Associates Interior Design I love it, too, and I'm sorry to tell you that I bought it in 2005 from a shop in Portland that has since gone out of business. You could probably find something similar by Googling "crystal chandeliers."
Bed and bedding - What a wonderful bedroom! I love the bed and the quilt that covers it. Where did you find them? I've had the hardest time finding a bed like this with a back that I like, and while there are plenty of quilts and matlasse coverlets out there, I have had trouble finding a color like this one. Thanks! Again, love the room! »
Emery & Associates Interior Design Thank you, Annette. This photograph is over 6 years old, so the line of bed linens is probably no longer available. The coverlet is actually a quilted silk, which I found at a discount store--it's not matlasse. The brand name was "Court of Versailles," but I couldn't find them when I went on line just now. The bed is a vintage Drexel Heritage Chippendale-style 4-poster (king size) that I found in a resale shop about 10 years ago. Lucky me! You can go on line and Google "Chippendale four poster" to find something similar. The lovely textile at the end of the bed was found by my stylist in a local antique shop, borrowed for the photo shoot.
Emery & Associates Interior Design Had them made. Found the vases at a consignment shop in Sellwood (Portland, OR), and took them to Naomi's Lamp Shop where I chose the shades, bases, and finials, and the gals there wire them up. It's amazing what you can use to make a lamp--practically anything! If you do it this way, you have something uniquely your own.
Emery & Associates Interior Design I design lots of furnishings, but do not engineer the products I design, and I do not do my own sewing or installing. I had my sewing person make a tiny rod pocket at the top of this triple full gathered silk panel (several widths of fabric), then it was shirred onto a very small rod and my installer attached it to the wall. I know he used a center bracket as well as end brackets, but they are very small and flat.
Emery & Associates Interior Design Sorry about the delay to your question, but I've been traveling out of the country for several weeks. With all due respect to Miss Porter, the color is NOT similar to Benjamin Moore "El Sereno Gold 223." Funny what lighting can do to a color in a photograph. The paint is Miller Paint "Tobacco Road", #8214M. It's more neutral and not as mustardy as "El Sereno Gold," but in the photo the walls look more gold than khaki. Hope this helps.
