What did you use as a base? Stone dust and sand? How deep for each? »

Westover Landscape Design, Inc. Hello Nrolli7183, thanks for your question. We used 2 inches of stone dust on a base of 4 inches of gravel. Good luck with your project. Robert

Can you indulge yet another question? How did you address drainage in this patio? Sloped toward garage? »

Westover Landscape Design, Inc. Thanks for the questions Rae3434, we pitched the entire patio to the top right of this image, away from the house and towards the driveway and street. Beyond the gate, the grade changes and goes down two steps - about 14 inches to the driveway and garage grade level. Also this is a "soft base" with stone dust rather them cement joints which helps drainage and permeability. Thanks for asking. Robert

Ideally our small patio sections would be in some such pattern, irregular, but cohesive. I like the differences in the rock surface color.

Loved this garden since I first saw it on Westover's site about a year ago. Just don't know about the "stereo purple" petunias. Lavender would be perfect.
