The one problem that I tend to have when viewing the De Stilj movement's art is that it doesn't offer enough in terms of color. Here's a look at the same style of almost-graphic art with clear attention to vertical and horizontal lines but with a fresh take on the color. This room is easy on the eyes in terms of function but attention-getting in terms of color.
Create a warm, contemporary space by adding only citrus colors to red. Choose from orange, lemon, lime or add all three.
My Sangria color mix suggestions:
Red: My Valentine 1330 by Benjamin Moore
Yellow: Pineapple Grove 333 by Benjamin Moore
Orange: Kumquat 6648 by Sherwin-Williams
Green: Lime Rickey 6717 by Sherwin-Williams
Purple: Plum Jam 690B-7 by Behr
Cheers!
6. Play with furniture and accessories. Your wall color isn’t the only thing that can help your artwork stand out. Creating a balance between the colors of the artwork and the furniture in the room will help the artwork become more of a presence.
