I love everything about this area. It's that simple.. Love the paint colour, the design of separating the rooms, the half walls, and all that storage! It all works and the columns and ceiling make the space quite grand. Just lovely.

What a great idea! Incorporating storage in an entry that would have basically been right into the large room. Now, it's set apart and useful and beautiful.

While the style of columns is not in keeping with your house, this is a good example of how a half wall can be used to divide space and also provide storage. We could add a half wall of linen storage for the laundry closet if needed.
