Perched on wooded hilltop, this historical estate home was thoughtfully restored and expanded, addressing the modern needs of a large family and incorporating the unique style of its owners. The design is teeming with custom details including a porte cochère and fox head rain spouts, providing references to the historical narrative of the site’s long history.

Where does this room exist in the house? It appears the main kitchen is not this one. ?? »
COOK ARCHITECTURAL Design Studio Thank you for your interest in our project. If you look at the rest of the images for this project we can get you a visual. If you look at the image of the kitchen with the island and the range/hood on the back wall, this serving pantry is behind the range wall. In the image with the island range/hood you can see the hallway that shows the entry into this area. Hope that helps to give you an idea where this room is.
COOK ARCHITECTURAL Design Studio Thank you for your interest in our project. Yes the sink is the original german sink from the 1920's we had the finish restored but kept the dents for character.
COOK ARCHITECTURAL Design Studio Thank you for your interest in our project, we were the architects for the home. The Interior Designer for this project was RLH Studio, located in Minneapolis, Minnesota and they selected all the finishes including the window treatments. They would be able to answer this question.
JBC Interiors This is usually called a London Shade or a pleated roman shade. I have made this type of window treatment to be functional or stationary. This is one is likely stationary. You can tell because it does not have a lot of fabric at the bottom in the folds. If it was functional, it would have a lot more bulk at the bottom.
It looks beautifully done. I love how the feminine style of the shade contrasts with the masculinity of the stripe. It complements the kitchen perfectly.
bepsf Why not?
Checkerboard floors can be done in smaller scale tiles if you'd like, and were quite common in the 40's and 50's when houses were smaller.
jarmmy This place has the 9" pattern squares which helps so you don't lose the pattern.

They have it in small width size and large width size for small or large projects. Like kitchens & garages for the large size width and bathroom, laundry or car trailers for the small width. Only takes about a week to get.
Anne DeCocco What a lovely kitchen! That stainless counter is gorgeous--will go into my favorites for sure. Ok, the floor. Can't tell if it's painted or tile or vinyl. Here's an ideabook that I found using the Houzz searchbox. Hope it gives you some good info:

These balloon-shade valances connected to stretch across the bank of smaller windows creates a grander look. Again, you can hide privacy blinds behind each window.
