how do i waterproof a second level deck ? - I have a second level deck and a 3rd level deck above it. I want to create a 4 season porch to be used as a studio on the 2nd level. The space needs a protection from water and insulation for heat in the winter. would it be easier to add a second level to an existing garage for this purpose? »
Coggan + Crawford Architecture + Design I would have suggested an opposing gable above this space, but you have one immediately to the right, and some unusal drainage going on. i also can't tell what kind of ceiling height you might get. I'd suggest involving an architect or design/builder.
Lesley Caldicott Quiet Moments isn't close. The best I've been able to come up with is Ozark Shadows AC-26 (or something close to that perhaps). Good luck.
COOK ARCHITECTURAL Design Studio It is a mix of bluestone. Bluestone comes in a variety of shades, so check with a local stone yard to see the blends they have available. The owners had an existing bluestone patio that was salvaged as part of the project, and that is why there is the color variation with the stones.
I am considering adding a non-covered patio off of master bedroom above exiting sunroom just like your picture. How did you make it water proof? Thank you. »
Use a different material. Another advantage to having an addition to the back is the chance to change materials. Rather than trying to match an existing brick, which could be expansive and problematic, the addition can be of wood. Keeping the all of the wood the same color binds each piece into the whole.
