Kathy Corbet Interiors Counters are generally 34-36" off the floor, the distance from the counter to the bottom of the cabinets is 18"--my eyeball says that mantle is 40" from the top of the counter or 76" from the floor.

Kathy Corbet Interiors PS--usually there are minimum and maximum measurements given for the vent height over burners (based on btu's and vent strength). If you are looking to place one of these over your stove be sure to follow the recommendations.
