I wasn't wild about the dark wood but considering it had been there for at least 250 years, I didn't want to cover it up with paint. I actually layered the several colors on top of each other to create the pink. I used latex paint and put a base coat of light pink on it. Then I washed it with umber, peach and finally a bright pink as the end coat to create the color. It really works with the white trim, the dark post and beams.

COLOR- The walls themself stick out the most. The color is bright which might help open up a room. the fact taht there is alot of the same warm colors seems like a little much and boring despite the brightness.
