It was the homeowner’s request that the fireplace be placed in the wine tasting room. The homeowner wanted to have the ability to warm the room temporarily to a comfortable temperature for occasional dinners a few times a year. Otherwise, the room is kept cool to protect the wine. Additionally, this building is detached from the main house, so the fireplace maintains the temperature above freezing when necessary in the winter months. Photo by Vance Fox
Ward-Young Architecture & Planning It was the homeowner’s request that the fireplace be placed in the wine tasting room/building. The homeowner wanted to have the ability to warm the room temporarily to a comfortable temperature for occasional dinners a few times a year. Otherwise, the room is kept cool to protect the wine. Additionally this building is detached from the main house, so the thermostat controlled fireplace also maintains the ideal temperature during the winter months and therefore prevents the wine from freezing. But otherwise you are correct, fire and wine are generally not compatible.

I like what you guys did here! Down stairs wine room w eating area and FP with arched ceiling without needing massive outside roof. Integrate wood door and metal gates for wine area?!
