Likewise, you can treat the Louis pieces like specimens or accents. Perhaps the modern design is very paired down, minimal, and clean, with one over the top ornate piece really taking center stage. I think what also tends to make these pieces work in modern settings is using modern materials, colors, or patterns to make them current.
