This project took advantage of code provisions for a guest quarters in order to add additional usable square footage without making modification to the existing house. A derelict existing garage was demolished and replaced with an in-ground pool and a new structure containing a 2-car garage, poolhouse/recreation room and an upstairs guest suite. Cement board siding and trim was used to meet stringent wildfire zone requirements yet match the aesthetic of the existing house.
