I love the sink! Is it vintage or is it still in production? If it is vintage, any idea where I can purchase something similar? I find that I am constantly drying things on my counter (cutting boards, knives, etc.) and I am tired of always having a dishtowel on my counter. This seems like a great/practical alternative to the farm house sink I was about to buy. »
If expensive pots and mixers aren't in the immediate future, no fear; there are plenty of more affordable ways to add color in the kitchen. Here, a set of mixing bowls arranged on an open shelf helps to perk up the space.
Try to incorporate color in unexpected areas in your home for that extra pop of summer cheer. Kitchens can often become pristine, all-white spaces. Mix it up a bit with a few colorful dishes, dish cloths or aprons.
Mixing bowls are another large item that can easily find room on an open shelf. The pop of color works really well here, making the room feel bright and cheery. Notice that the apron is hanging on a hook instead of hiding in a drawer. Let's add that as one more item we'd be able to show off.
6. Ditch the cupboards. Allow your taste in kitchenware to shine by embracing open shelving. Neat stacks and artful arrangements are the trick to pretty displays.
Kitchen: Hang up those aprons. Whether yours leans toward cute vintage aprons or elegantly simple linen numbers, they will look great on hooks near the stove.

I love the contry cottage look. The stark white looks cozy and is complemented by the multi-color mixing bowls. Love the dainty little flowered valance. I rent and have limited decorating leeway; therefore, I can repaint the shappy old style upper country cabinetes white and add complemetary bowls for a special pop.
Just one example. Google "farmhouse drainboard sink".
