Robert Young Architects Not necessarily. The main thing is the fixture should be disconnected and stored for the winter in cold climates. The one in this picture is made by Speakman. The valves, stem and shower head is all one unit so it is easy to remove.

Second favorite. Open bottom is good, simple design. Not sure the frame extending up like that would work for me. Also don't think the horizontal boards go well with my house.

I like that this shower is up off the ground so that water can run off the floor. That way the user is not standing in a puddle!
