This fabulous project is done! I took a traditional Tuscan-inspired separate kitchen and formal dining room built in 2006 and redecorated by us in 2009 into the 21st century!

The walls between the formal dining room and kitchen were taken down to open the space into a modern, spacious, bright and fantastic gourmet kitchen with multiple eating and lounging spaces, built in china cabinets for display and an expansive workspace for the family / homework.

The design also found space for two sets of built in banquets and reassigned a narrow eat in area as a staging area for the backyard patio and pool.

Here are the pics of the final product, a few of the initial tear down, and a couple of the original rooms.

The color scheme is cream and sage (Benjamin Moore Greenbriar Beige) and sage, cream and gray granite (oddly enoug, claled Yellow River. Cabinets in the kitchen area, on peninsula and one set of window seats are in cognac with antique black glaze and the island, built-in china closet / display, desk and other window seat area are in cream. The Back splash is noche honed marble with an inset of oiled bronze and fall toned glass mosaic tile.
