Where could I find or get the constr plans of the entrance portico? - Would have to alter dimensions to fit the local application and it would really enhance my brick style home entrance. I also like the simplicity of the walk landscaping. Very tastefully done! »
Normandy Remodeling Thanks for the compliment! We agree that the portico really enhances this home, but unfortunately we are not at liberty to share the blueprints for this renovation. Perhaps a local architect could help you draw up something similar that would work well for your home.
Normandy Remodeling The renovation that we completed did not modify the roofing of this home so unfortunately I do not have any details on the color of the shingles. I'm sorry that I couldn't provide any additional information on this topic.
Shutters! - Can you share more information (dimensions, style) of the shutters that you used on the home? They balance the house beautifully. Thanks! »
Normandy Remodeling The shutters do look lovely on this home, but they were not part of the renovation that Normandy completed, so unfortunately I don't have any details on them. I'm sorry that I don't have more information for you and wish you luck in finding a good shuttter for your home.
Normandy Remodeling Unfortunately we don't have a picture of just the garge, but these photos show an overall view with the garage as seen from the front, and the back entry photos allow you a narrow view to the left of the door where you can see the garage door.
Normandy Remodeling Thanks for the compliment! This is a solid mahogany front door with a stain from Olympia. The door is 40" x 95", and the sidelights are 12" x 95".
Normandy Remodeling The trim we selected and used for this project was chosen to be a good fit for its scale and proportion to the rest of the home and porch. If you are doing a similar project for your home, you may want to consult your architect or local supplier to help you determine what would be the right fit for your project. Best of luck on your new porch.
Normandy Remodeling The owners of this home did their landscaping after our renovation was complete, so unfortunately I do not have the name of those lovely plants. I'm sorry that I couldn't be of more help to you.
What's the square footage in this featured home? - Absolutely love this style of home; it's not commonly seen where I live, (South Florida). I'm interested in building. Is this something your company could help with or recommend someone in our area. What's the square footage in this featured home? Thanks »
Normandy Remodeling This home is a classic center hall colonial, and is fairly common in the Northeast and Midwest. This style of home should be fairly easy for a local architect to replicate and find a home of appropriate square footage for your needs and available building space. Unfortunately, we specialize only in remodeling in the Chicago area and do not have anyone that we could recommend to you in South Florida. You may want to contact a Design/Build Homebuilder or an Architect to get started on your new home. Good luck!
Normandy Remodeling This home is a standard center hall colonial, a classic design that nearly any architect should be able to replicate for you. Good luck on your new home!
Normandy Remodeling The landscaping was done after our project was completed, and although we agree that it looks beautiful we don't have the details on the plant life.
southerngabby Thank you for the information. My house (in Virginia) is almost identical. We are constructing a new portico and your design is the inspiration.
Normandy Remodeling Unfortunately, we don't have the paint colors on file but do find that the simplicity of the colors gives the home a timeless appeal.
Double-hung windows. Federal-style homes almost always have double-hung windows, typically with six panes per sash. Windows are symmetrically arranged around a central door. The most common window configuration is five on the second story and four on the first.
Love the flared hand rails... makes the home seem so welcoming, like it is literally opening its arms to you! Also dormers on top add some interest so home does not seem so "square". Porch is flat on top, not gabled
