Willow Weaving Fallen Egg

This willow egg is an amazing piece. It was first made by Carter or the grounds of The National Trusts Lyme Park and then exhibited at RHS Chelsea Flower Show. The willow is woven in such a way that it looks just like the nest the egg should be resting in. I think that's what I like so much about this - looking at an egg and thinking about a nest. It's a striking centerpiece if you have a lawn large enough to suit.

Height 120cm x Width 80cm
Artist: Rachel Carter
Materials: woven willow finished with linseed oil onto a frame of mild steel, which will slowly change colour as it is weathered — Wicki Mitchell
