Durability - Looking at this exact item for our master bathroom. I know marble is bad in a kitchen, but would this surface hold up in a bathroom? For example, there is sometimes makeup residue on my counter from power blush, bronzer, etc. Even though this is a darker color, could it stain? Also is it heat resistant (example, from putting a curling iron on it). Thanks! »

Sarah St. Amand Interior Design - Brantford, Ont. It is fine for a bathroom but any natural product has limitations and you need to be careful about leaving products on the surface such as toothpaste or a product that can soak into the surface and leave a permanent mark. Natural products like Eramosa Limestone do need to be sealed one to two times a year. I wouldn't recommend using this product in a bathroom used by a busy family with small children but better used in a master ensuite bath.

Is this eramosa limestone? - If so, how would this material hold up in a kitchen do you think? »

Sarah St. Amand Interior Design - Brantford, Ont. Yes it is Eramosa Limestone. You do need to be careful of this product because limestone is a porous stone therefore it can mark. If you are considering using it I would verify this with your local fabricator. Good luck! It is a gorgeous product. Thanks for your question.
