Can you tell me what the stone cladding is, I love it! - I love your work, absolutely beautiful. i have been struggling to find the perfect cladding for one of my clients curved exterior walls. I would really appreciate it if you could share your source for this material.
Thank you!! Wendi »
I noticed you haven't received a response. They really did do a beautiful job.
I run a concrete studio / shop up near Seattle. A skilled concrete artisan could fabricate wall cladding for you with the same look we see in the photo above.
You would have the advantage of controlling the color. The radius of the curved wall could be easily matched. You could choose different heights for the cladding pieces (2", 4", 6", etc.). They would only need to be 1/2" to 3/4" thick ( at the thinnest point considering texture) cutting down on weight and material. A good fabricator will produce little to no waste making them for you by calculating material requirements for casting.
*****I was just looking at the stone work on the left side. The large panels on the right would be snap as well. Smaller panels can be 1/2" thick and you can do 4' x 8' sheets at 3/4".
We're always ready to ship anywhere, but if you'd like I know a couple of excellent artisans in your area. Feel free to contact me and I can help you out either way.
The flame itself might by fueled by natural gas or propane. There are special burners designed for either fuel that will survive the elements. You can have a simple manual control, electronic ignition, remote control or other options depending on what you need/want. Find your local National Fireplace Institute expert at nficertified.org
