Meredith Heron If you use it a lot at the full length then you would need two of these fixtures for it to fit the space. This table was less than 7ft closed and we custom made two 12" leaves to add on to the end which was the maximum for this fixture.

Meredith Heron I just went on LS's website prices on their fabrics are between $20-$35/yard. Many of their fabrics designers can buy directly from trade only sources and not pay the retail prices. I do like LS for trim.

I pointed out the difference because it is my work and it is of a specific quality and I don't feel that L&S comes close to the same quality. These projects are all professionally designed most often with custom & bespoke elements. As a designer, I find it disheartening to have other people post where the look can be knocked off on my own profile. I find it furthermore in bad taste to then be criticized for pointing out that the "look for less" is not anywhere close to the original design.

I look forward to the conference call Houzz & I will be having just after the new year. I think that are positive changes that can be made on here to alert homeowners to the budget range individual designers work with for their projects. I think qualifying the designer/budget would be insightful for all involved. I also think that each project should be assigned a price tag to show what someone could expect to pay for the same room concept wise.

It's not a judgment about budgets. We have done a wide variety of projects with equally as varied budgets. Having said that, we've been in business for 15+ years now and we know what budget range a project needs to have in order for us to take it on.

Thank you for your comments though, they have been helpful in articulating how I would like to see the site function as a designer.

Emily Hurley I think it's okay to have the sideboard off the carpet, but for things like couches and chairs in a seating area, I think I'd put the front legs on and not the back.

feeny I think, in a dining room, it will look better to have all four legs of the sideboard on the hardwood floor. The rug can come just up to the edge of it perhaps? The rug should generously define the seating area, and I think the room will look crisper if it is limited to that focus.

Emily Hurley If that is a standard door height of about 7' It looks like maybe 8'6"?

babynurse Thank you....I am interested in the chandelier. When I was reading guidelines for size it says the height of the chandelier body should be 2.5 to 3 inches per foot of ceiling height. My ceiling is 9ft high. The body of this chandelier is 16.5...? too small. I know the diameter is good at 25inches....by table is 46 wide.

Meredith Heron These have a faux ostritch leather on the seats and a faux silk on the backs with nailheads. As shown, they are about $700/chair. Without nailheads in a basic fabric you are looking at approx $400-$500/chair.
