Is there a gap between the fireplace and the cabinet? - We have an existing fireplace that looks like it has a similar stone shape. We can't figure out if we have to cut the stone or leave a gap to install built in cabinets and shelves. We like how you have done yours but can't tell from the picture. Thanks. »
Six Walls Interior Design Yes, I believe there is about a 1.5" gap between the stone & cabinetry. The stone was installed first & then cabinetry was measured for, built & installed.
Six Walls Interior Design we bought them through Costco Home in Kirkland WA about 7 years ago, I don't know if they are still manufactured by the same company....as Costco Home is no longer in biz I have no way of finding out. They are a microfiber style arm chair similar to those seen here: http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Griffin-Avigon-Driftwood-Club-Chair/5118954/product.html
Six Walls Interior Design Sorry, we don't have any added photos of that wall. The shelving is about 2.5" thick, 6" deep x 30" long for each. Mounted to have a cantilevered/floating installation look.
Cindy Skille Thank-you for the information on where to purchase the stone, however, I can't tell from the website which color this actually is. Do you know which stone color you used?
Traditional looking fireplace with the stone...but like the modern linear fireplace. Would not work in the corner... Would we then incorporate the tv above the fireplace, or still off to the side??
