Echelon Custom Homes Hi there, for the backsplash under the windows we use the same material as the hardwood on the counter. It's cherry with walnut stain. Let us know if you have more questions. Good luck with your project!

KBDesign If you're planning to use wood for a countertop in wet areas (near the sink), be sure it has the proper finish. With an undermount or apron sink be sure that finish is also applied to the underside of the sink portion as well. The finish should also be environmentally safe for food preparation. Wood can be a dramatic element in the kitchen and a great work surface with the proper preparation and installation.
With such a narrow space between the counter and the window sill, the same wood material will look the best.

Matthew Adler The granite is Gold and Silver, imported from Italy. It should be available by order through most slab yards or fabricators.
