Granite Grannies All three will be very easy to care for and beautiful. I think the choice is really going to boil down to whatever looks better to you personally. You can get a honed or leathered Absolute Black Granite that would be really lovely. If you want to go solid black, honed or leathered Absolute Black tends to show less fingerprints and smudges than polished Absolute Black, but I wouldn't make that the deciding factor.
keoandjack I also agree, I love the look of this kitchen and the way the hardware contrasts with the cabinets. I'd love to know where these are from and their style and color!
Countertops - I love this kitchen! It's gorgeous. Can you tell me... are the counters black or brown? I want to create a similar look but all of my furniture/ stools are dark brown. »
picabelle Hard to tell from the angle of this photo but the perimeters look like soapstone to me, in which case they'd likely be a blackish green if waxed.
jasmine25 im sure its absolute black granit with a brushed finished NOT honed if you zoom in you can see its textured.
We ordered the same for our kitchen
Your work is so beautiful. What is your opinion of using a lighter oak stained floor with this type of kitchen? We want to try to mimic this look with an all white kitchen and honed/ antiqued black granite but the floors will not be dark like this. Do you think we can still pull off this look successfully? Thank you. »
Paul Moon Design Thank you for the kind words. Yes, you can pull that off. I think you can still add some stain to the floor but not go this dark. You can see a few more of these on my web site paulmoondesign.com. Maybe that will give you a couple ideas. Good luck!
Paul Moon Design Just a white subway tile. Dal Tile makes an affordable one. I believe this was Ann Sacks. Just determine if you want a "machined" look or "hand done". The tile supplier can help show you the difference.
I always seem to pick your pictures when I am on this site! Love your work! Can you please tell me what your opinion is about knob color choice in a all white kitchen with stainless appliances and black granite countertops? Silver finish vs dark finish?? Thanks so much for your time!! »
Paul Moon Design Thank you for the kind words. I think it is totally up to your preference. The great thing is that you can use either dark or light hardware. The light hardware will pick up the stainless appliances, and perhaps you can mix in with the lights an plumbing fixtures. If you use dark, it will work with the counters, floor, and contrast the white. You can then use the lights and plumbing fixtures in any way you like.
Paul Moon Design It was a custom dye/stain on oak. It is something that you would have to have your finisher mix for you on site and try samples. It is almost black, you cannot see the grain in the wood.
happyindesign It looks standard--many companies make 3 x 6 or 3 x 5 subway tiles from dal tile to Ann Sacks. Emser tile has a good house product that is affordable with a couple of shades of white.
cabinet hardware - I adore this kitchen and the rest of what you did with this residence. I want to achieve a similar look in my kitchen, and I'm wondering if your cabinet hardware here is oil rubbed bronze or another finish? Thank you! And congratulations on this beautiful house! »
Dream kitchen. Love this...the orientation of this kitchen - layout of appliances, sink & island. Love windows over sink and no upper cabinets around the window. Shaker style doors. Would do full overlays to save $$. Soapstone counters or honed granite? Could do that on island w/ a white polished granite on counters?
