focal point conflict - Not really a question, but more of a comment. Why do so many people have their tv's and fireplace fighting for attention. I never liked the look where you have two focal points. Just my opinion »
gas fireplace - Really beautiful. Could you please tell me what brand gas fireplace that is and the dimensions and model? Trying to find something like this and having a hard time with correct dimensions. Thank you in advance. »
Fireplacesafetyscreen.com This looks like a set of gas logs in a prefabricated wood burning firebox. You can find many gas logs that will look better than the typical direct vent gas fireplace. Check out your local Heath/Fireplace shop.
COASTROAD Hearth & Patio There are a number of clean-face (no louvers), flush hearth direct vent gas fireplaces available now, but here are a few of my favorites:
If you'd like some specific help with your application, you can contact me or your local National Fireplace Institute professional : http://www.nficertified.org/ .
1 - Can you please tell me the width of the mantel legs and the height of the wood piece just above the granite? (Are they the same measurement?)
2 - How thick is the actual mantel piece including the small piece of molding just below it?
3 - What is the length of the mantel and the height from floor to mantel shelf?
Thank you. »
COASTROAD Hearth & Patio - Since no one else has jumped in here, I'm going to venture some educated guesses. It is going to be a little difficult to be accurate because the camera angle is forcing a little stretching in the photo (making the right mantel leg look wider than the left, etc.).
Assuming that the fireplace is a standard 42" size (I'm not sure, but I think it is a Town & Country 42" model), the granite legs and header appear to be about 9" wide, making the mantel legs about 12" wide and header about 12" tall (it does look like the legs and header are the same size). It appears that the mantel legs and header are about 2" deep (or thick), and it looks like the moulding is about 3/4" tall making it probably about 3/8" deep, making the total depth there at the bottom of the header about 2 3/8" deep.
Adding 38" for the height of the fireplace opening, 9" for granite, 12" for the mantel header and another 5" for the crown moulding and header, I'm guessing the whole kit-and-caboodle comes to about 64" off othe floor.
Assuming a 42" wide fireplace plus 18" of granite, 24" of mantel legs and 10" of crown moulding and shelf, the mantel shelf is 94" overal width.
Of course, I could be completely wrong and it's only the 36" model, in which case
the whole thing works out to about 55" tall and 82" wide
I love the kitchen and family room combo. How was the fireplace and surround built? What materials was it built from? Is a gas fireplace and what is the surround made from?
thank you »
How tall are the ceilings in this house? I am struggling to decide between 9ft and 10 ft ceilings. I love the comfortable yet clean feeling this home projects. Do you think its ceiling height helps project that feeling? Thank you. »
Paul Moon Design 10'. 10' Is a great look for having windows above exterior doors and it feels "grand". My personal feeling is that 9' is more intimate.
I love this kitchen/family room! When I went to BM to check out the colors of cabinets and walls they looked so much greyer then I had thought. Any other color combo ideas for white cabinets and walls? Our existing trim is similar to Dove White, so we may have the cabinets done in that color. The existing wall color is too purple/grey for us. Looking for a beige i guess.... »
I love this kitchen!! Can you please tell me the color and maker of the subway tile on the backsplash? I am having the hardest time finding one and I really love the way this one looks! Thanks so much for your time! »
