Fireplace with tv above. I like how the fireplace is clean simple built out from the wall. I like the black honed granite around it and the media built-in with dark glass to hide electronics.
Assuming we get a 36" size Town & Country model, the granite legs and header appear to be about 9" wide, making the mantel legs about 12" wide and header about 12" tall (it does look like the legs and header are the same size). It appears that the mantel legs and header are about 2" deep (or thick), and it looks like the moulding is about 3/4" tall making it probably about 3/8" deep, making the total depth there at the bottom of the header about 2 3/8" deep.
Adding 32" for the height of the fireplace opening, 9" for granite, 12" for the mantel header and another 5" for the crown moulding and header, I'm guessing the whole kit-and-caboodle comes to about 58" off othe floor....and about 82" wide.

I also like the transom french doors and transom floor length window next to it for our living room.
I think you mean "combustible"
: )
Katie, take a look at this discussion: http://www.houzz.com/discussions/143246/Wondering-if-the-heat-from-the-fireplace-is-not-a-problem-for-the-TV-directly-above-it-

If those are candles on the mantel, I'd be more worried about them melting than hurting the TV.
