If you head to a slab yard, there are a variety of stones that are common for outdoor paving that you can choose from.

Stone path. A rugged stone path to lead you around the yard can be quite charming. The surrounding pebbles accent the large, flat stones nicely and look more tidy than stones laid directly into a lawn. A path like this would make for an excellent complement to a stone fire pit such as the one in the next photo.
