  • Title: Abstract Color Study
  • Artist: Michelle Calkins
  • Product Type: Canvas Art
  • Size: 14" x 19"
  • Made in the USA.
Michelle found solace in the creation of art since childhood. Her influences include Edward Hopper, Andy Goldsworthy, ants, snails and people who paint things on the head of a pin. She is especially impressed with artists who create art that is not permanent, like sand painters and ice sculptors. Michelle's media of choice are oil and acrylic paint, oil pastel, and photography. Having been a professional picture framer since 1990, the presentation aspect of the art world has been foremost on her mind.

This 14" x 19" canvas art is ready to hang. Giclee (jee-clay) is an advanced printmaking process for creating high quality fine art reproductions. The attainable excellence that Giclee printmaking affords makes the reproduction virtually indistinguishable from the original piece. The result is wide acceptance of Giclee by galleries, museums, and private collectors. Gallery wrap is a method of stretching an artist's canvas so that the canvas wraps around the sides and is secured to a hidden, wooden frame. This method of stretching and preparing a canvas allows for a frameless presentation of the finished print.
