What can you plant between pavers?
Haven't a clue on the plant between the stones. Suggest using something that grows well between stones in shade, required little or infrequent mowing. Baby tears? Dicandra? Sunnier climes perhaps a prostrate thyme or chamomile?

The beaten path. If the only truly green space you can create is around your sidewalk or driveway: make the most of it. These stones were simply shifted left and right when positioned, but effect goes a long (and nonintrusive) way.
Follow the green brick road... The pathway, flanked by an all-green symphony of plants, gets its definition from the stone wall and medium sized bushes.

If your area is sloped just ever so gently, consider a beautifully landscaped path instead of steps. This would be much easier to navigate than lots and lots of short steps. What a fabulous design...very unique.
unique yet traditional look of staggered pavers, how the pavers coordinate with the stone wall, variegated privet hedge on one side with low natural planting on the other at the base of the wall. the textural variation of two colors-green and grey.
