trying to decide between granite versus quartz? - I am doing a house renovation and am conflicted between doing the kitchen counters in quartz or granite. concerns about radon, food safety, quality, what is better. »
LeMaster Architects Quartz has little to no radon off gassing and is more stain and mildew resistant than granite. It can often come with an anti-microbial sealant. I prefer quartz to granite for kitchens.
ginaginagina Quartz is a better quality and long term option. I am remodelling my kitchen and was faced with the same dilemma. I've had granite counters in the past, as well.
