Cook Bros Design Build Remodeling I a glad you like this idea - we often try to incorportate storage into as many areas as possible, especially in a basement. We also once built in a custom CD/DVD rack under the stairs! Since we are a true design build firm that performs all of our design and production work in house (i.e. we have our own draftsmen and carpenters on staff), many times the exact details of these types of built ins are specified in the field with homeowners and our production staff, rather than drawing up detailed drawings that might be necessary if we were designing something that could be used by anyone to build, so unfortunately I do not have any detailed plans I can share for this particular feature. It was built using plywood (I recommend birch plywood, as it gives a nice surface to paint) with screen bead to cover the front edge of the plywood and with the outside cased with standard 2 1/4" colonial casing. The 'boxes' were about 13" x 13" and 12" deep so that the homeowner could use cloth 'baskets' she had purchased in each 'cubby' The top angle obviously followed the angle of the stair stringer. Hope this information helps!
