I love your cedar lap siding and am planning to use it on my new home. My dilemma is whether to go with a 4 or 3 inch vertical overlap. My thought is that each will produce quite a different look, but I'm no expert. Can you please tell me what size overlap you have used here - is it 3 or 4 inch? Maybe you could also help me understand what the implications are for the design/look of the structure under the two scenarios. Thanks so much! »
goottsaxon i love the exterior. how much maintenance is required for this type of cedar siding as opposed to artisan siding? we are in the process of designing the exterior of our new MODERN home and are having trouble deciding on what to use. Everyone says that cedar loses its color and is hard to maintain and that stucco needs to be repainted often due to mold. Anyone have any thoughts?? Thanks so much!
We are providers of high quality cedar. Our preference is for the clear version (without the knots) for a warm, west coast feel to your home exterior. Mix it with cement board for a modern design.
The material exterior on the house is 6 inch Red Cedar channel siding. There is a one inch overlap so the width of the board is about 5 inches. Please note that the face of the siding is flat instead of angled to provide a more contemporary feel
