COASTROAD Hearth & Patio Those appear to be Rasmussen fireballs ( http://www.rasmussen.biz/logs/fireballs_main.htm ), but it also appears to be a direct-vent gas fireplace (because of the glass front) and I was not aware of any direct-vents that used fireballs.
You cannot put the mixed size fire balls in any gas fireplace (unless it was designed, tested and approved with them), but a woodburning fireplace can usually be retrofitted like this.
I would be very interested to find out what is in the photo above.
