Who designed/manufactured the glass rails? - Trying desperately to get this type of railing in my new home and the city is requiring I find a brochure or info on someone that has done this in the U.S. before they will permit it. Please help! :) »
Wooden or stone staircase? - I see countless photos of wooden staircases and I love the look. Will be building this year but cant decide between wood and stone for staircase. How on earth does one maintain the wood? Will it not scratch and wear away in no time? Please advise! »
Lipa Woodwork Proper wood finish will last you decades unless you walk on it in shoes. Stone case is more durable but you are going to have to spend a lot of money on it because of the structural work needed to actually install them.
Again type of wood? - Can the design group please tell us the wood and stain used please! I really thing these will work good in my basement remodel. »

glass imbedded into wood stair - Note: dust and particles will be captured in between glass and wood; glass not supported on ends, no handrail for young children or anyone who needs support. But, note the detail of the material on the end of the tread and risers. it looks like powder coated metal to me.
Like the flat, solid, geometric style of stairs, and that they are split with a small landing halfway down. Glass along the side allows illusion of being open; a simple railing might also work.
