forfloors Looking to install wooden floors downstairs in the kitchen, family and living, we have maple cabinets in the kitchen, will this wood look good with the maple cabinets, will the flooring make the house look dark? Please let me know.
Homes Aglow The designer/builder mentioned the color in one of the previous questions. It was SW 6141 softer tan in kitchen area and therefore SW 6144 dapper tan in the living room (dark base same family).
Leiyuan Industrial Co., Ltd I guess it's laminated wood, but you can try woodend grain ceramic tiles, which is better than real wood material with Environmental protection, Easy maintenance, No deformation, etc. advantages. if you like, you can check www.tileinchina.com
calden It looks like African Mahogany/Sapele. I have the African Mahogany from Mirage in the Bronze color and this floor looks very much like this pic.

Stonewood, LLC We do not share our custom home plans, but I would be happy to put you in touch with the architect, if you'd like to discuss custom design.
What color are the cabinets? We're remodeling our kitchen, we love white cabinets but think bright white might be a bit much. Also, what kind of paint finish are cabinets typically? Thanks! »
ladylucie This is a wonderful service you and others provide. I too am planning a white kitchen and don't want it too stark. I'll check these colors out.
Where can I get this breakfast room table and chair set? I need a large breakfast table and hope to seat more than 10 people. This set attracted my eyes. Thanks. »

I am looking to you for advise! I am in the midst of a Kitchen remodel and am have trouble with paint selections.
I very much like this kitchen by Stonewood, and am wondering if the color combinations of atrium white cabinets and kilim beige or latte walls will work with the selections I have already committed to. My counters are Copper Silk, my backsplash in Sandlewood travertine with accent of Jinshan Bone framed with Listello tiles. The flooring is Chestnut Oak and I have stainless appliances with a white Ikea apron sink. The granite sales person told me that the atrium white by BM would be too pink for my woodwork and cabinetry. I would love to hear what the readers would advise. I should mention that my Kitchen has an Eastern exposure. Thank you for any help that you can offer> J »
Liz Vacanti I've been searching for a nice beige tone, have 3 colors on the wall now, and just not sure if I' ve hit the nail on the head yet! What is the color in the dining area, it's exactly what I'm looking For ! Thanks...L
vermeer_day What do you like? Look through Houzz! While at Houzz, click "Photos", filter by space "kitchens", then in the search window type "dark stained cabinets" and you will see lots of examples of espresso stained cabinets with an endless array of floor types. This may help you determine what styles you like.
I wish Houzz would show what categories a picture is tagged with. I don't know what style I am but I really like this look. Is this considered transitional? »
Daniel Gary Hi- I would also consider this to be transitional, however it also looks like it has some craftsman elements (darkish floors, shaker cabinets, nice trimwork). Ultimately, they've done a good job blending modern things with traditional elements, creating a really nice atmosphere.

eat in bar/breakfast counter and dining room table - I was wondering if you can tell me the distance between the two. I would like to put an eat in bar/breakfast counter in my kitchen, and it would lead into my dining room, but I'm not certain I'd have enough space between the two. What is the minimum do you think that can work?
Thanks so much in advance! »
Backsplash. - I am using bianco antico granite and a soft white on the cabinets. Would you please share the color and kind of b'splash you used?
Also do you think this b'splash would work with my granite? »
Here's another example of the use of subtle shifts in color from room to room. The walls of the family room (through the arch) are simply a darker shade of a similar color in the kitchen and dining room.
Next: How to Create Flow From Room to Room
Candle chandeliers. If you like long lingering meals by candlelight, try a fixture with faux-candle shades. These lights offer a warm, romantic glow. And during the holidays you can add fun accents like branches and ornaments without worrying they will catch on fire. If you are concerned about this kind of light not being strong enough, just remember that you can and should layer different types of lighting in a room, so include other table lamps, floor lamps or sconces.
Good color flow is another way to bring peace to your home, especially if you have an open floor plan. Gradual and pleasing color transitions, as well as repetition of color, give a sense of order and calm the chaos.
