Love the island/table! Can you please share size & where I can find? »
Cliff Spencer Furniture Maker We made the table. We are the cabinets makers on this job. We had the base made by our steel fabricator. The size was approx. 36" L x 36" H x 30" D.
Cliff Spencer Furniture Maker The shelves are a solid lay-up. 1.5" thick. We mount custom steel brackets to the studs - that are routed into the shelves. There may be some drywall touch-up required after.. but it is very stable.
If space is tight, use a cozy corner for a counter-height table. This kitchen is too narrow for an island, but a unique kitchen table is "attached" to the counters in a space between the kitchen and living areas. It's a very efficient use of space and perfect as a party gathering spot or for the Sunday morning crossword puzzle.
The kitchen is a natural home for your empty vases kept handy near the sink to fill with water for fresh flowers. Housed among other white dishware, especially in open shelving, they look just right.
floatin shelves. You do need to think about what you want these made from. They can be wood, stainless, tile, laminate, something weird and salvaged, pretty much anything. Again, a comtemporary door style, but a casual feel.
