Help with Kitchen Counters. - We are building a new home & I had my heart set on granite with blue hues for the kitchen countertops. (white cabinets, white washed oak wood floors). I like the blue maucauba & blue Bahia granite but we are being told we will need 3 slabs which makes the price out of our budget. :(
Any suggestions on a color granite that is not so pricey but will give me the beachy feel I am looking for with a blue hue?
Your help would be greatly appreciated! I will consider solid surface IF it was something beautiful, I just don't think it has the elegance of granite..... Thank you, ANS »
anovaksmith Thank you for your help & suggestions. I will look into the darker blues or lighter ones with grey as an option. The lady at the granite yard suggested "Aspen White" & it has a blue/grey veining in it so maybe if we do a backsplash with more blue in it it will pick up more of the blue hues? We plan on being in this house for a very long time so I really want to choose wisely and I want to "love it" for many many years! :)
Granite Grannies That's very wise of you to take your time and find something that will appeal to you for a long time. Aspen White is very pretty. We have a slab in here of White Thunder Granite that has a similar gray/blue/lavender feel to it, so that might be something to look out for as well. Don't give up until you find something you love. There are so many amazing stones out there; you can always get something that will make you smile every time you walk into your kitchen, it just might take a bit of searching.
I don't like when gigantic, ugly garage doors compete with the actual entrance to a house. I prefer them set to the side, like this, or completely concealed with a side or back entrance. Like the wood garage door.
