The horned animal was a a drawing of my father's, food after his death. After making the head of this animal into a stencil, I have been using it in my work as pattern/repetition.

My mixed media work is both playful, simply about the joy of painting and mark making, and emotive of deeper meaning brewing beneath the surface. Imagery, color, line and shapes reference both significant experience and memory and also the repetitive, commonplace occurrences of daily life. I draw inspiration from a wide range of sources: Abstract Expressionist painters, my children's mark-making and drawings, design, objects and color from significant memory, Biblical text, and the body.
