When Hutton first took his tour of the house, the guest room was the only room that had thankfully been spared the over-the-top 1980s remodel. He used a Piero Lissoni for Porro bed-frame, accented by Glo-Ball lamps by Jasper Morrison for Flos. Since the large photograph by Eija-Liisa Ahtila is the primary focal point for the room's decor, little else was needed to accent these high-quality pieces.

The Glo-Ball Table Lamp sits atop an elegant, slender steel pedestal. It fits right into the clean-lined contemporary bedroom, adding style and curves without distracting from the view.

Adagio. In music, "adagio" means "to play slowly, to be at ease." Architectural spaces can also be "played" slowly and at ease. These are spaces to linger in, to enjoy as if time didn't exist. Soft colors and spare furnishings allow us to relax and take in the serene environment. Of course, some rooms are like some songs, made to be a due (for two).

I like the simple straight platform with the comforter just hanging at edge and the open space beneath the platform. Minimal wood in a frame. The metal leg has to go replaced by sturdy wood legs at the same location and angle. Support/cross beam will have to run across where legs connect. Also like the pillows against the wall but I think the lamps should be wall mounted and the "end tables" should be minimal--perhaps triangular wider at the wall, but could still (possibly) have a shallow drawer, a thick book's depth, that would slide/swing out.

Minimalist, easy to make the bed, looks wonderfully comfortable.
