Exciting New Façade

The client wanted the emotional lift of having a more attractive façade for their house. They hoped the new porch would conceal the odd 2nd floor cantilever, and provide a safe stair, walk, and weather protection at their front door. The dwelling sits on an elevated site so that it is viewed from a lower level at the street. Measured, as-built drawings were prepared to commence the design phase. Designs were explored in elevation and perspective to illustrate different design schemes and features and options with regard to the size of the porch, roof line, column layout, wall treatments, and exterior materials. The new porch enhanced the architecture of the home to give the owners a proud feeling of their ample curb appeal. The design of the new porch and wing wall conceal the quirky 2nd floor cantilever. And the new porch, walk and stairs provide a safe entry that is sheltered from the elements.
