Luke and I share a love for blues - he desires darker shades of blue which is perfect to blend with shades of blues I adore with hints of green and even purple. This is also great because I love both blues and purples with bright, white furniture. Another bonus is that interchanging shades of yellow, orange, and green accessories in between blue and purple rooms would compliment both colors!
I am crazy about purple in interior design. My favorite paint is a color named "BlackBerry" I found at Lowe's once upon a time. The idea would involve a much more deep purple, almost black - and eggshell paint is a must for dark shades. Crown molding, main and/or large furniture pieces must be bright white with clean lines. I prefer white leather sofas with a soft sheen and for the white tables, lamps, vases, crown molding, or any accessory to have an excess of gloss.
Never would I purchase or even store any furniture, pillows, blankets,or accessories that happen to be suede or faux-suede; honestly suede is something I would never purchase as I dislike the texture for it's touch to fingertips that need lotion, the lack of sturdiness from a pluck from either my cats or any object or material that would be capable to pluck at the material. Suede or faux-suede has a deep, emotional love for any stain that is introduced. Suede is a slut! My eyes are not enthused with the flat, dull essence of this fabric. Simple cloth furniture and accessories are on par with my distaste for suede or the faux counterpart.
To suede and faux-suede: you are ugly, smelly, dirty, needy, and require such effort. When you are new, clean, combed, and 'ready for the housewarming party' you look like that slut that Kenny Powers used to try to make April jealous... Everything and anything will look trashy on you... and you'll always be dirty and disease-ridden! Suede-HATE rant complete... I hope.
