This hand painted, acrylic abstract painting on stretched canvas The painting juxtaposes bold, expressive brushstrokes with texture knife painting and thin, delicate line work. The gray ground is highly textured, made from an acrylic medium called "fiber paste". Symbolic use of trees, roots, and ground all help create a painting that s more than just an abstract landscape.

Both warm and cool colors in this piece play off of each other, the cool bluish gray enlivens the orange and warmer yellow while the subtle, light green (made by a translucent glaze of light yellow over blue-gray) contrasts with the few hints of red.
